The two directionless young men are repulsive on every level. In Two Gallants by James Joyce we have the theme of betrayal, treachery and paralysis. The title has a bit of gleeful irony, and Joyce gives neither man so much as a single redeeming quality. Joyce even makes them ugly. Taken from his Dubliners collection the story is narrated in the third person by an unnamed narrator and one of the first things the reader will notice after they have read the story is that Joyce is using irony when it comes to the title of the story. Two Gallants, the band's third full-length album, was released in September 2007 on Saddle Creek and debuted at number 29 on Billboard 's Top Heatseeker's Chart.
